NBA National Community Band 2008

FUN IN THE SUN!!

Join a world-class conductor and adult instrumentalists from around the country who love to make music together in the NBA National Community Band 2008.

When: June 20-22, 2008

Where: DeLand, Florida
DeLand is located just off Interstate 4, on US 17 & 92 between Daytona Beach and Orlando. DeLand is 30 minutes from the ocean, an hour from Disney World and one and a half hours from both the Kennedy Space Center and historic St. Augustine.

Conductor: Frank B. Wickes, NBA Past-President and Director of Bands at
Louisiana State University

Host: NBA President Bobby Adams and Stetson University

Hotel: DeLand Holiday Inn 350 East International Speedway DeLand, FL 32724

The room rate is $67.00 per room, per night. The rate is good for 3 days before the event and 3 days after.

For reservations call the DeLand Holiday Inn direct at 386-738-5200. DO NOT CALL THE HOLIDAY INN 800 NUMBER. Ask for the National Community Band rate. If you do not get the correct answer, call Dr. Bobby Adams at 386-822-8951.

Rehearsals will be held at the DeLand Holiday Inn hotel. The concert will be held in Elizabeth Hall on the campus of Stetson University.

Proposed Schedule:
Friday, June 20th: 7:00 pm ­ 10:00 pm - rehearsal
Saturday, June 21st: 10:00 am ­ 11:30 am - rehearsal
Saturday, June 21st: 1:00 pm ­ 4:00 pm - rehearsal
Sunday, June 22nd: 1:00 pm ­ 2:30 pm ­ dress rehearsal
Sunday, June 22nd: 3:30 pm - concert

Everyone is invited to join the National Community Band 2008 and enjoy the spirit of community music with “FUN IN THE SUN” under the direction of Frank Wickes. Fill out the application and send in your registration fee and enjoy a weekend of great music making!
