Student Member Dues - New for 2006-2008

(1) Honorary Student Member - $0 per year
(2) Regular Student Member and Student Bridge Member - $10 per year

New to NBA...the NBA “Honorary Student Membership.” Any NBA member can give a college student a FREE NBA student membership for one year. This membership also includes The Instrumentalist and the NBA Journal. You might have a student from your program studying to become a band director, or a student teacher right now who is eligible for this membership. (Our membership could, in theory, double overnight if members took advantage of this special project!)

Also, all regular NBA Student Member dues have been reduced to $10 a year for both regular Student Members and Student Bridge Members (new band directors who need the bridge from September to April. (Student Memberships run September 1 to August 31.) All NBA Student Members receive The Instrumentalist and the NBA Journal. The NBA Board of Directors has agreed to implement this new dues structure in the form of a special project for this biennium.

To nominate a student for an Honorary Student Membership, click here, and choose Honorary Student Member for the membership type. You will then fill out the rest of the information for your honorary student member on the first page, click “submit,” and give your member number and name on the second page. Note: you must fill out the required fields on the first page, which are marked by red asterisks.

You can do this now even though Student Member dues run September 1 to August 31. NBA members can do this once a year, every year. If you nominate a student between now and September 1, 2007, the membership will be good until August 31, 2008.

These two special student member projects are the direct result of NBA Corporate Sponsors approaching the NBA Executive Committee. It is the intent of these sponsors to help build our student membership, which is building our next generation of band directors. By getting students involved with NBA now, we hope they will find they have instant access to networking, mentor support, and help when they begin teaching.
