Study Brass Instrument in the Netherlands - Europe

The Utrecht Conservatory (Netherlands) will hold their annual auditions for Trumpet, French Horn, Trombone and Tuba on location in New York City, on Saturday February 16 2008.

We offer you a 4-year Undergraduate and a 2-year Graduate(master) degree with:

Arto Hoornweg [trumpet, Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra],
Jaap van der Vliet [horn, Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, Amsterdam]
Albert Zuyderduin [trombone, The Hague Philharmonic Orchestra,
Bernard Berniers [tuba, Radio Philharmonic Orchestra]


Full tuition fee is €. 3100,- per year. The Dutch government supports its education which makes this amount an equal fee for every student. Besides the tuition fee there are extra costs; for living. The Conservatory, situated in the beautiful heart of the city, has no dormitories. Meaning that all students have to find a place to live themselves and pay rent. The Utrecht School of the Arts provides assistance finding a place to live, so there is no problem obtaining appropriate lodging.

Also important is getting a visa to study in the Netherlands. Information about visa is available on the website of the HKU.

The Utrecht Conservatory is part of The Utrecht School of the Arts (Hogeschool voor de Kunsten Utrecht - HKU), which is an institution with a broad and multi-faceted profile, and is one of the largest specialized Dutch institutions of professional higher arts education. The Utrecht School of the Arts offers undergraduate and postgraduate course degrees and diplomas in a multi-disciplinary environment spread over five schools: Visual Arts and Design; Art, Media & Technology; Music; Theatre; and Art & Economics. Coaches, tutors, project lecturers and professionals.
